1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Face Emotion AI accesses, processes, stores, and protects information when you use the app. The app is designed to perform its core face and facial-expression features locally on your iPhone or iPad.

2. Face Data and On-Device Processing

Face Emotion AI accesses and processes facial images selected by you or captured through your device camera. This processing is used to detect visible faces, classify facial expressions, and, when you choose to add a named person, match that face in future photos.

All face detection, facial-expression analysis, and face matching are performed locally on your device using Apple Vision and bundled Core ML models. Face images, facial features, face embeddings, camera frames, and analysis results are not transmitted to the developer, an external server, or any third-party artificial intelligence service.

Photos selected only for expression analysis are processed temporarily in memory and are not retained by the app. Live camera frames are processed in real time and are not recorded or retained.

3. Optional Local Face Storage

If you voluntarily add a named person, the app stores the entered name and a cropped reference face image locally within the app's private Application Support directory. A numerical face embedding is generated locally when needed for matching. It is not transmitted to or accessible by the developer or any third party.

This locally stored information is used only to recognize the saved person within the app. It is not used for advertising, tracking, or building an external user profile.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or share face data with third parties. The app does not send face data to OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or any other third-party AI service, analytics service, advertising service, or developer-controlled server.

The machine-learning models included with the app operate entirely on your device. No face data is provided to the creators of those models.

5. Retention and Deletion

• Photos used for ordinary analysis are retained only temporarily while the analysis runs.
• Live camera frames are not recorded or retained.
• Names and reference face images that you choose to save remain on your device until you delete the saved person.
• Deleting a person removes that person's stored name and reference face images from the app's local storage.
• Uninstalling the app removes information stored in the app's private local directory.

6. Photos and User-Initiated Sharing

The app can save a labeled image to your Photos library or open the iOS system share sheet. These actions happen only when you initiate them. The app does not automatically upload or share your images. When you choose a destination through the system share sheet, the destination's own privacy practices may apply.

7. Device Permissions

The app may request access to:

• Camera: to analyze visible facial expressions in real time.
• Photos: to let you select images for on-device analysis.
• Add to Photos: to save a labeled image when you request it.

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

8. Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or transmit children's face data to the developer or third parties. All face analysis remains on the device.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features or privacy practices change. The date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last updated.
